Corrosion, Tarnishing and Oxidation Prevention When Copper is exposed to air, it begins to oxidize, tarnish and/or corrode. Some people prefer the shiny, “New Penny “ appearance of raw copper or wish to restore copper to a new appearance. To do this, one only needs to polish and apply a clear resin coating over the copper. Still others want to prevent this corrosion/oxidation for conductivity purposes by sealing it. The process for preserving the “New Penny ” appearance and “sealing” for conductivity purposes is the same. Below you will find the products needed to accomplish the “look” or preserve the conductivity needed for your application.
